Alex first began his love affair with South America in 1997 when he travelled to Venezuela. Since then he has taught in Peru and Chile, and travelled all over the continent. In recent years he has taught in the UK. However, he decided, in 2006, to pursue a career in travel. Alex now lives with his Peruvian wife in Hove. As well as travel his interests include cricket, World cinema, Latin American music, organic food, big New World wines and Arsenal FC.

After graduating in Tourism and Leisure in France 7 years ago, Stephanie originally came to England to study English for 6 months, but has been here ever since! She has 5 years’ experience in the Hotel and Tourism industry, and the rest of her time has been divided into visiting her family back in France and travelling around to feed her passion for discovering new places, mostly in Brazil, Quebec and Europe. She loves good food, cinema, meeting new people and speaking foreign languages.

Lara Walker - Groups Consultant USA

Having attended a completely French primary and secondary school in Toronto and having studied Spanish in Mexico and Costa Rica for a little over two years, Lara has found it hard to stay in one place. Graduating with a degree in Spanish Literature, she has become very passionate about Latin American Spanish and culture. Aside from learning languages, Lara loves to travel and learn as much about other countries as possible which has led her to visit many parts of Europe, Latin America, Australia, Alaska, and South East Asia.

Neil Stawarz - Groups Consultant UK

Having spent a year teaching English in Salerno, Neil is Cactus’ most vocal Italian enthusiast. It was actually Spanish and French that he first pursued as a study option though, and after gaining a degree in both of these languages he headed to South America to put his skills to the test. Neil’s interests focus principally around two of his passions – football and Italian. He’ll be at his happiest sipping an espresso on an Italian piazza with his beloved Vespa in the vicinity.
