As officially one of the most beautiful towns in Spain, you'd
expect Vejer to be slightly better known. But perched high on
a hill in southern Spain, with views of the surrounding landscape
and beaches of Conil and Zahara, it's in a world of its own. An
artistic, historic and very beautiful world, that is.
With just 8,000 inhabitants the town is intimate and attractively
laid out, with steep zigzagging streets, bright whitewashed houses,
balconies tumbling out flowers, and a number of hidden cafés
and terrazas. And this is just by day…wait until the sun
goes down and the whole place is just illuminated like a fairytale
town under the clear night sky. This is one little jewel not to
be missed.
