The reunification of Germany
was felt no stronger than in Berlin
with the collapse of the Wall in 1989.
Cold War wounds may be hard to heal
but the atmosphere in the capital
today is lively, multi-cultural and
progressive. An impressive third of
the Berlin area is devoted to green
parks, lakes and
forest, while the rest remains a stunning blend
of modern and war-torn architecture, eclectic
museums and unbeatable entertainment facilities.
So for a good dose of culture and history, infinite
opportunities to practise your German, and plenty
to do for all ages, Berlin is a great place to
be.
The
School
The school is located in Schöneberg,
one of Berlin's most popular and stylish
neighbourhoods. Founded in 1983, it
boasts 20 bright, modern classrooms
that occupy three floors of a refurbished
commercial building, right opposite
the house where Marlene Dietrich used
to live.
Students benefit from internet access and a wide
range of study facilities. From the beginning
you will speak only German - it's like jumping
in at the deep end but it's worth it! - and an
evaluation test every Friday enables teachers
to check on your progress. Each class is allocted
two teachers which means that students have the
advantage of being exposed to different accents
and teaching methods.
* NB. During the summer students may attend the
junior school premises.
Client
Feedback
The school
was super - the standard of teaching
excellent and the atmosphere in the
school great. So yes, my German improved!
My host was a born & bred Berliner
so she could tell me all about the
history of the city and spoke German
to me all the time, which was excellent.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time there
& hope to go back soon.
