Palermo is the capital of the
gorgeous island of Sicily; the ball
being kicked by the boot of Italy,
as it were. It is the cradle of ancient
civilisations and has always been
a crossroads of cultures between East
and West: through history its strategic
position has attracted people of diverse
race,
language and religion, and today it continues
to enchant a yearly influx of visitors who come
to savour the warm Mediterranean climate and take
in the islands fascinating history, culture
and sumptuous cuisine. Or maybe they've heard
that Sicilians have one of the longest life expectancies
and are simply hoping to be let in on the secret...
The School
The school was founded in 1975 and
is part of a well-established and
highly successful worldwide chain
of language schools. It occupies two
floors of a beautiful 100-year-old
building in the heart of Palermo,
near to the main square and the towns
most elegant shops. In 2001 the
school was completely renovated to meet new European
standards, and it now boasts excellent facilities
such as a multimedia room, library, study room,
video room, free and unlimited internet access,
and an open-air patio with a snack bar where students
can relax after class. The school also offers
excellent student services and counselling in
over 5 languages.

Feedback
I found the school very well-organised
and the staff very helpful. It has
been a great experience and very useful
for me in improving my Italian, as
Ive been able to clear up some
grammatical points that I found difficult
when studying Italian in England.
The city is beautiful and the school
is very close to the beach, which
is a bonus. Alex Bonomi
