'Rome wasn't built in a day',
so they say. Well, how right they
are. Its foundations may have been
laid by the early Roman Empire, but
the influence of medieval, Renaissance
and Baroque over the centuries has
not gone unnoticed. So much so that
the Eternal City is today a legendary,
captivating and beautiful city. And in amongst
the ruins la dolce vita is as sweet, and as exciting,
as in any European city, the root of a modern
and lively metropolis. Augustus would have been
proud to see how his city has flourished.
The School
This school is situated in the centre
of Rome, just a short walk from the
train station and conveniently located
for transport links to every part
of the city. It has been teaching
Italian as a foreign language since
1974, and is part of a well-established
and worldwide organisation of schools.
It
caters to students from all over the world, of
all levels and with a wide variety of needs and
interests. The school was one of the first schools
to adopt a fully communicative approach to the
teaching of Italian. A wide variety of up-to-date
and authentic material is used in class, thus
giving students valuable information about modern-day
Italian culture and society at the same time as
developing their linguistic and communicative
skills. The accent is on activity rather than
passive receptivity. The teachers, who have been
teaching at the school for an average of 10 years,
have been selected from special training courses
and each month participate in teacher education
seminars.

Feedback
"The school was brilliant!! It
was located about 2 minutes from Termini
(the main railway and bus station)
and so had good access to most parts
of the city. The staff were very welcoming
and helpful. The school also organised
lots of activities and excursions,
many of which were free or at least
very reasonably priced."
